Wow, what a great show! We had a blast and greatly appreciated the local send off/support. Durham really is a work in progress as far as metal goes, and I won't lie about being a bit skeptical about this show in the heart of Prius land, but you guys fucken restored faith that extreme metal can compete with all the bullshit indie garbage we've all heard a thousand variations of now. Huge thanks to the Motorco and Primitive Ways. I think we can be rest assured we'll aim for more shows in Durham in the future. ![]() Basura. What a great blend of grind and punk in I guess a blackened style. Nice, raw, aggressive and with good stage presence. It was cool to finally see these guys! They may have only played 14 minutes, but it was an intense 14 minutes. As per grind requirements. ![]() Next up was Gorbash. It was really cool seeing these guys on a larger stage and I think they filled it well. They're like a dirty death/thrash. Dual leads, a commanding bassist, and held together by a killer drummer. The singer though, he really just paced back in forth, screaming, like a madman possessed. What a great set! Last up was Necrocosm. If you're local and into metal, these guys should be on your radar. If your not local, you really need to get these guys on your radar. They're a 5 piece melodic death metal group that's been at it now just a few few short years. Their first album is due out soon and they're absolutely killing the local scene. The drummer snapped his pedal during the set and had to borrow someones, I'm not a fan of breaking gear for the sake of a show, but when it breaks because you're playing that intense, damn. And I mean, each member of the band delivers that. Do yourself a favor, go check out Necrocosm. That's it really for Durham. Now to go pack up the rest of my shit and hit the road to Worcester, MA! Metal Thursday at Ralph's with Panzerbastard, Against the Grain, and The Hookers!
